How it all started...
Founded in Southwest Georgia in the heart of the quail hunting capital of the world, Baypole Plantation was established due to a genuine love for the land and the sporting life that the founders wanted to share with others. Restoring wildlife habitats by planting, building, burning, and harvesting, they began to practice stewardship in every sense, believing that "if we build it, they will come." Turning cornfields and open woodlands into food plots with protective habitats, they built places for the wildlife to return and reestablish herds, coveys, and flocks. With existing cultivated fields void of fence rows, they planted buffer strips along field edges to reestablish quail cover. These riparian buffers are more than a "field of dreams" for the returning quail. They are essential for the restoration of the Georgia state game bird. Until the ledendary bobwhite quail population is restored, hunters enjoy quail hunting with released birds provided by Baypole Plantation.
Our goal at Baypole Plantation is to immerse you in the most authentic South Georgia quail hunting experience possible.
